  • 1. Meaning of Electrical Accident
  • 2. Reason of Electrical Accident
  • 3. What is I.S.I. Procedure?
  • 4. How Electrical Accident can be Avoided?

Explanation of all the topics:

Electrical Accidents
Electrical Accidents

1. Meaning of Electrical Accident

Unknowingly or my mistake over confidence, unforeseen happening a person may touch a live part and current passes through his body and get a shock can be termed as electrical accident which may result body injury burning of part of body or a death of a person is termed as electric accident.

2. Reasons of Electrical Accidents

Accident can also be to the system such as short circuit, saviour leakage current, breaking of live conductors on other conductor on earth wire, on animals, human beings.

Accidents may be due to negligence in maintenance operation, over loading, water
leakages etc.

Accidents may be due to inferior materials used by the manufacturer and without getting certificate of Indian Stand Institute(I.S.I.)

What is I.S.I. procedure?

When the electrical equipment and cables are not of approved design and manufacture, the Indian Standard Specifications(ISS) are the main guiding booklets for manufacture of electrical equipment and there after approval seal of I.S.I. (Indian Standard Institution) is most essential to establish its credibility.

Such specifications not only include all important regulations governing the design, construction and manufacture of the equipment but also testing procedures is to be adopted.

The equipment manufactured to these specifications can be depended upon to give safe and satisfactory service.

Reasons of Electrical Accidents:

Accidents may also happen due to one or more of the reasons given below:

  1. Improper tools.
  2. Protective devices not used or provided.
  3. Lack of proper instructions or supervision
  4. Instructions not been observed faithfully.
  5. Over confidence.
  6. Mental and physical condition of employee.
  7. Poor judgment.
  8. Mechanical inability of doing things and failure to think.
  9. Negligence and carelessness of other persons.

How electrical accidents can be avoided?

1. The equipment installed should be used properly.

2. The instructions of sequence of operation shall be followed properly.

3. Machines shall never be mishandled or a person who don'ts know machines shall not be allowed to start/operate the machines.

4. Installation of the machines shall be as per the guide lines provided by the manufacture and rate contract for maintenance shall be given to the competent agency.

5. Periodical inspection shall be carried out by qualified and experienced Engineer and skilled technicians.

6. Repairs/Replacement, suggested by the expert engineer shall be done immediately without delay.

7. For overhead electric lines, periodic patrolling must be done to inspect the lines. Faulty parts must be replaced.

8. As per the maintenance schedule the maintenance work must be attended to.

9. In emergency cases/prior to likely fault, the system should be break down and maintenance works shall be carried out.

10. Earthing must be checked periodically.

11. Insulation resistance must be measured as per the maintenance schedule.

12. Electrician, wireman, line-man shall use earth rods, rubber glows, insulated handle
pliers, wooden stair etc.

13. Instead of a work to be allotted to a single person on electric lines outside, two persons
to be deputed for the work.

14. Shut down and line charging procedure shall be done by written warrants.

MarX Generator

MarX Generator | High voltage pulse generator Marx Generator - High voltage pulse generator What is MarX Generator? Marx Generator is Electrical circuit which used for generate high voltage pulse. Marx generator is same as like voltage multiplier circuit. First watch the video of marx generator.. Marx Generator produce high voltage Spark as like lightning. Now learn how to make marx generator... Circuit Diagram of marx generator circuit is shown in below image. Circuit Diagram of marx Generator Here, First capacitor are connected in parallel. When DC supply is applied, capacitors charge through resistor by voltage Vc. Spark gaps use as a switch, Here first spark gap voltage is greater than the voltage Vc. So spark gaps are behave as a open circuit during capacitor charge. Now to generate high voltage pulse, The first spark gap need to be breakdown. So, By breakdown spark gap will be short circuit an...

Variable Inductance Transducer | Classification Of Variable Inductance Transducer

Variable Inductance Transducer | Classification Of Variable Inductance Transducer Variable Inductance Transducer | Classification Of Variable Inductance Transducer These are based on a change in the magnetic characteristic of an electrical circuit in response to a measurand which may be displacement, velocity, acceleration etc. Variable inductive transducer may be classified as follows: 1.Self-generating type In this type voltage is generated because of the relative motion between a conductor and a magnetic field. These may be further classified as follows: (A)Electromagnetic type (B)Electrodynamic type (C)Eddy current type 2.Passive type In this type the motion of an object results in change in the inductance of the coils of the transducer. These may be further classified as follows: (A)Variable reluctance (B)Mutual inductance (C)Differential transfer type 1.Self-generating Type (A)Eleotromagnetic t...
